  • Plaid: The Perfect Recipe for Fall

What a week, and it’s only Wednesday! I am so ready for the weekend, are you doing anything fun for Halloween? I’m not very gung-ho about the holiday, so if you have any suggestions, I’m still looking for costume ideas. Anyways, I am so excited, it is finally feeling like Fall here in Dallas! I love outfits that look like Fall, mostly the ones that include plaid. That sounds silly, but there is definitely a look that you don’t see here with the lack of Fall we have here in Texas.

    VH1 Save the Music Fundraiser

I am so excited to share this post with you, because last week I went to a really cool fundraiser that means so much to me! Music has always been a big part of my life. I’m not a piano prodigy, but as a ballerina, I was taught the importance of music and the arts growing up. That’s why I moved everything around to attend the VH1 Save the Music Fundraiser, Musically Mastered Menu!

  • OTS, off the shoulder top in Fall, lace sleeves

    OTS for Fall

What a week! It’s only Wednesday, too! I was slow to jump on this OTS (off the shoulder) trend, but now that I’m on it, I don’t want to stop! I was a little worried that once the weather got cooler, I would have to stop wearing them, but nope! This trend translates perfectly to the cooler weather, and I love it in the darker colors! These lace sleeves are my favorite part, though. They add a pretty and edgy feel!

  • You Had Me at Merlot, Running in Heels at the State Fair

You Had Me at Merlot, Texas State Fair

Happy Monday! I have had a crazy last 10 days, but I am finally rested and ready for a new week. After Austin, I had another trip to Phoenix for work, (which happened to be hotter than Texas), and we had an hour to kill before our flight back so we stopped at the mall across from our hotel. We wandered into Old Navy and they had the cutest pieces! I grabbed this tank that says ‘You had me at Merlot’ and thought it was perfect to wear to the Texas State Fair the next day!

  • Feeling Adult-Ish

Most of the time, I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing, but every so often, I give myself a pat on the back because I realize I had a total adult moment. It’s usually the small things, like paying a bill, booking a trip, or just doing something ridiculous because I want to. Then other times, I’ll have a moment when something happens and I feel like I need to ask my parents what to do. This is where I feel adult-ish. Where if I have to, I can solve my problem on my own, but the reality is I don’t want to. I’m not the best at asking for help, but when I realize I need it, it’s my parents I usually go to.

  • Faux Leather Pros and Cons

Faux leather has come a long way in recent years. I can remember my “leather” pants in middles school that were a weird mix of something between rubber and plastic. They weren’t the most luxurious garment, but they were one of my favorite pieces because they made me feel so cool! You used to be able to run your hands down a rack and immediately point out the faux materials, but now, the differences are harder and harder to tell. (That, or I’m shopping better places, both are possibilities.) I own both and constantly think about the many pros and cons of faux leather, especially during this season since they are all over!

  • 4 Ways to Tie Your Blanket Scarf

Happy Monday! As I mentioned in my last post, I wanted to share this blog on how to tie your blanket scarf. I had so many ideas, but I narrowed them down to my four favorite ways to wear a them. Scarves, specifically the blanket scarf, is one of my favorite Fall accessories, and I strongly believe that you can’t possibly have too many. They are cozy and warm, and extremely versatile. So, I am giving you step by step instructions how to tie them differently, so you can wear one everyday and still change things up! I made up the style names, because to my knowledge, they don’t have official names for scarf-tying styles. Read on to see how I style/tie/wrap my scarves, and shop my favorite blanket scarves here:

  • The Perfect Sweater Dress for Fall

I know, I know, I have been on a major dress kick lately! But seriously, can you resist a good fall sweater dress? I prefer them 10 times over skirts. I mean it’s one less piece you need to pick out, and you look more put together. I got this sweater dress at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this summer, and I have been dying to wear it! This is a pretty light sweater dress, so I don’t have to wait until it’s too cold, luckily. I love that it is a good dress for work. I will be super comfy (because this is literally the most comfortable dress), warm, and it’s a great length! I was so worried about where it comes up in the front, but it hits right above my knee, which is perfect. I’m not the tallest person, but I do have long legs which make skirts and dresses look shorter than they actually are.

  • Suede Dress and OTK boots for Fall

Happy Monday! It’s finally cooling off just a little bit here in Dallas and you better believe I busted out my fall clothes! I really don’t have a lot of storage, so by busted out I really meant I moved a few dresses from the back of my closet to the front. I am so excited to start blogging about Fall clothes, it is truly my favorite season! This suede dress was one of those pieces I found from last year. Suede (or faux suede) is a really on-trend fabric for the season. It really came in a couple of years ago and hasn’t gone anywhere! This suede dress was a really great find at Nordstrom Rack last year, and I am so happy that it’s still completely on trend. What trends are you loving this Fall?

  • Leather Dress for Fall

Happy Fall! It’s officially Autumn and I couldn’t be more excited! Ok, I could if it actually felt like Fall, but I’ll stop complaining because welcome to Texas. There are a few things that make me feel like Fall in my wardrobe, usually things like hats, leather, suede, fun accessories, booties, scarves, all of the best wardrobe pieces. This leather dress is definitely one of them! Although its 90 degrees outside, I can still wear my favorite Fall clothes because it’s a frozen tundra in my office! It was super hot to shoot in, but It will be perfect for work when the temperature drops a little bit.
