Asking for a Friend: Black and Navy?

I’ve always been known as “the fashion girl” among my friends. In high school I was on a style committee at the local mall, in college I was VP of the fashion organization, and in life, I eat, sleep, and breath fashion- which is why I wanted to dedicate this blog to inspiring and learning from others.

    Training Update: Week #15

Aah! Only 6 days until the Dallas Marathon! I can’t believe that it’s finally here, it felt at some points that I would be training forever. Yesterday I ran my final long run of ten miles. The great news is, my knee was fully functioning and felt pretty good! (Sidetone: I saw a bunch of sailboats and stopped to take pictures.)This run was for confidence, and I definitely gained some after royally messing up my training schedule.

    Instagram Round Up

How is it already December? I feel like 2015 just went by without me! I love this season though! The Holiday season is my favorite time of year because I get to see my family and friends that are in Ohio still. Not to mention some major events coming up this month.  (The Dallas Marathon and my vacation!) Before I get ahead of myself… I compiled some of my favorite instagrams from November for you here!

    Casual Holiday

    casual holiday dress

Happy Thanksgiving! Today I am thankful for my family, friends, and my pup, Elie, as well as health, happiness and all of you who read my blog! I’m back in Ohio for the holiday, where it’s a fantastic 50 degrees today! My family does a pretty casual Thanksgiving, so I’m not too dressed up, but I do love this little knit dress! I love loose and flowy dresses, and this one is super comfy! I paired it with my Toms high tops since I’ve been wearing more flats lately. I’m trying not to perpetuate any of my running injuries…

    Training Update: Week #13

Hi Everyone! I went to the sport doctor last week, and he worked on my leg. My knee basically tracks in the wrong direction when I run, which is caused by weak muscles in my hips and causes all sorts of other issues. I plan to go back until the marathon and hope I can get through it with the problem at least better, if not solved! Today I ran over 6 miles without stopping which is the most I’ve been able to do in a long time, so I’m happy with it. I finished my “long run”/workout on the bike.

    Winter Coat Shopping Tips

Winter Coat Shopping               Click to shop below!                                            A winter coat is a staple pieces that I want to go with every outfit.  It has to fit over layers and I like mine to be a classic style that can carry me through a few seasons. I had my last winter coat for years, but it was time for an upgrade. Living in Texas I don’t need a winter coat too often, but it does get chilly for a few months here. I also travel back to Ohio for the holidays and I have a few other winter trips planned for which I’ll need to keep warm. Since I won’t get as much use out of it as I used to in the midwest, I really want to be sure I am making a good investment. So, here are my top 3 winter coat shopping tips: 1. Buy something comfortable. Fit is one of the most important things I look for in a coat. Be sure it fits not only in what you’re wearing, but over a couple layers for the chilly days. 2. Function. This sounds silly, but make sure it’s actually warm. I wanted so many different cute coats in the last few years, but having to walk across a college campus in below zero temps forced me to buy something a little more practical. 3. Make sure it is a good investment. Winter coats are expesive, and I don’t know many people who buy a new one every year. I try to choose classic pieces for my style, and my coat shoice is no different.  xoxo Kasey

    My Uniform

As the temperatures drop I have more of an inclination towards comfort and warmth over trends. As an ode to my winter uniform (cozy sweater and skinny jeans) I wore this comfy outfit running errands and Christmas shopping last weekend.

    Training Update: Week #12

Hi friends! I don’t have much of an update right now. I’m at a bit of a standstill with my training until I visit the doctor this week. I’m struggling with my knee pain and really need a solution before the marathon in a month! I’m hoping the doctor can help get me through this!
