5 Trendy Casual Summer Outfits

It seems like when the weather gets warmer, I get more and more casual. It’s really freaking hot in Texas like I can’t explain it. So unless you’ve been here in the summer, you’ve never experienced anything like it. Because of the hundred-plus degree heat, I want to be as comfortable as possible. Casual outfits are my go to, so I put together these five casual summer outfits to help inspire your summer wardrobe!

Casual Summer Outfits: Chambray Shirtdress

Chambray goes with everything, right? This was the perfect dress for so many situations. If you have a casual office you can wear it there, to dinner, drinks, a baseball game, the list goes on. Dresses are my favorite in the summer because they are loose in the heat, and you don’t have to pair separate pieces together!

Denim is the epitome of casual, so even a dress with that fabric would be easy to wear in most situations. I had been eying shirtdresses all spring, and finally made the move to grab this one from Old Navy. However, now I’m thinking I need one in the utility style like this one from Revolve. Casual Summer Outfits: Romper

Just as simple as dresses without the potential of flashing people with a big gust of wind. Rompers are the perfect outfit for a simple and chic look. I especially love this one, also from Old Navy. I grabbed it in this black linen and denim/chambray! It’s super comfy and is easy to dress up and down. It’s perfect for brunch, casual dinners, and day outings!

Casual Summer Outfits: Linen Shorts and a Tee

Linen is the best and worst fabric because it’s light and airy, but also wrinkles if you look at it wrong. That being said, I live for a great linen look in the Texas heat. Light fabric beats wrinkles any day for my casual summer outfits.

I grabbed these shorts because I couldn’t resist the paper bag waist, and although they come in other colors, the tan goes with everything! Casual Summer Outfits: Denim Shorts + Crop Top

A weekend favorite casual summer outfit of mine and my absolute go-to is denim shorts. These paper-bag waist shorts are perfect for pairing with crop tops because of their high waist. Unlike some other high waisted shorts I’ve tried, they are not also super cheeky, so I am totally comfortable in them. I almost always choose flat sandals or a casual sneaker-type shoe with this look. It’s my favorite for day drinking or an easy weekend cookout.

Naturally, I chose a black top with the denim, but I’m obsessed with adding fun accessories to the mix! These heart sunglasses are the cutest paired with my Baublebar stack and my favorite little Alexander Wang bag!

Casual Summer Outfits: Easy Breezy Sundress

While not 100% casual, it’s the easiest outfit of all those listed here. I love an easy breezy dress to throw on over a swimsuit or to wear for an impromptu bunch. I live in simple shift dresses all summer long, no matter the occasion, so it only seemed right to add them to this list! Sometimes I wear them with heels, but mostly I throw them on with flip flops and a ponytail!
