If you’ve been following along on Instagram or Snapchat (@kasey_lynn18), you know that I was in Austin this past weekend with my boyfriend! We had the most amazing time, from going out to ACL, to Lake Travis! We drove up on Friday and went to a really great dinner at Carmelo’s. After dinner, I experienced 6th street for the first time, which I have been so excitedĀ to do! We went to Coyote Ugly and a few other bars, it was such a crazy place! They shut down the entire street, I didn’t even recognize it when we stopped back in the morning for donuts!
These are possibly the best donuts (for sure 1/33Ā of the best) in the country. I have been dreaming about these donuts ever since I came to Austin with my sisterĀ (affectionately named Donut Tour 2016 for all of the donuts we consumed) in February, soĀ I just had to drag Kale there too! Afterwards, we took a Skinny Pop pedicab to Zilker Park for our first experience at ACL!
Saturday, ACL Weekend 2
It was such a great day! We roasted in the sun, hopped from stage to stage, and had an amazing time! First we just walked around to get our bearings, then headed to see the Cavemen. About halfway through we needed to fill up on water, so naturally we made a pit stop in the Beer tent. While we were there we caught a minute of the football game for Kale (he did give up the whole weekend of games for me!).
Next we headed to see Saint Motel. It was a pretty chill concert so we were able to sit on the blanket, the absolute best decision, and listen. I carried it in my backpack and pulled it out all day to sit and eat, watch concerts while we waited between bands. After Saint Motel, we had a hot minute to get over to see LL Cool J (because how could you not?) then finally we had a breakĀ in bands and we headed to grab food, and toastĀ in the sunĀ while we waited to see Cage the Elephant. They were so awesome, it was really fun to be as close as we were!
Finally we made our wayĀ back to the Home Away stage whereĀ The Chainsmokers would be playing. Somehow at this point there were 4xsĀ as many people around and we weren’t very close. They were so fun to see anyways,Ā definitely the highlight of the day! We finished with a few songs from Kendrick Lamar and headed out because we were both sun-burnt, dehydrated and hangry.
Sunday, Lake Travis
On Sunday we slept in and stopped at HOPE Outdoor Gallery on our way out. Then venturingĀ intoĀ Hill Country, we stopped at The Oasis on Lake Travis for lunch, which hadĀ the most beautiful view! Finally, we headed back, loading up on Sour Patch Kids, Pringle’s and Twizzlers (per car trip rules). I think next year we need to go all three days to ACL, I’ll be ready!
