24 Hours in Austin, TX for a Wedding

Last weekend, Kale and I went to Austin, TX for a wedding. We had an amazing time, and enjoyed our short trip! We arrived with an hour to get ready and jump on the shuttle to the ceremony, so there wasn’t much time to explore beforehand. Once we were on the bus we were shuttled about ten minutes to Pecan Springs Ranch. This venue was gorgeous and perfect for an outdoor country wedding. There was a cute little house for the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready, an adorable area for the ceremony in front of an outdoor fireplace, and an entire open yard lit up with gorgeous string lights! There was an adorable photo-area in front of the “Love Shack” with the lit up LOVE sign, and outdoor seating for the perfect Austin, TX night we had! They also had the yard equipped with corn hole and giant Jenga so we could watch the sunset and play games before going in to dance the night away!

The next morning we woke up not feeling our best, but made it downstairs to a regrettable hotel breakfast which we left even more hungry than we arrived. So we made our way to Rainey St. to eat at Banger’s. Cold brew coffee and BBQ sausage and mashed potatoes? Yep, that’s a good meal, but hey it hit the spot! After lunch we found Peter Pan Mini Golf which was a blast! Before heading out I had to make one last stop: There’s one thing I’ve made a habit of when I visit Austin, TX, and that is a visit to Voodoo Doughnut! If you’ve never been, they make really great donuts and cover them with various cookies/candies/cereals making them even more amazing. Their pink boxes say “Good things come in pink boxes,” and all I have to say is, isn’t that the truth? Clearly I like to eat, which will be a theme in these Travel posts, but I hope you enjoyed my first one this season! Please comment below with anything you’d like to see more of as my Travel posts continue!
