First of all, thank you all for your help crowdsourcing this post! There are so many great companies out there who donate to charity, but I wanted to highlight those who made giving back a part of their DNA. Though I’m writing this as a holiday gift guide, I think you should shop at all of these places throughout the year!
I am personally familiar with many of these companies that give back, and shop at, but I am so thankful for the new ones I’ve learned about through you and my own personal research for this post! Read on to see eight companies that give back to shop with this holiday season.
8 Companies That Give Back to Shop at this Christmas:
Feed Projects
How they give back:
The Feed Projects mission is to improve access to nutritious meals for children in 63 countries around the world, including the USA. Each item purchased tells you how many meals you help to provide with your purchase!
The Feed Projects have been one of my favorite brands that give back for years! I love their chic style and charitable concept. I’ve mostly owned their bags, but they have an entire home store too! I love how each item you purchase shows how many meals they provide to people in need, it shows how you are helping kids around the world and here at home to get nutritious meals to help set them up for success in school and their futures.
Altar’d State
How they give back:
Altar’d State donates at least 1% of sales to charity partners chosen by each local store through their Stand Out for Good program.
I’ve worked with Altar’d State in the past and loved them, so I couldn’t possibly leave them off of this list! Altar’d State has the coziest sweaters, and prettiest outfits, I love their clothing and gifts! Stop here for the women on your list! Plus I grabbed my NYE look here last year!
Hari Mari
How they give back:
Hari Mari donates 1% of sales to kids battling cancer.
Depending on where you live, you may not think of the holidays as the best time to buy flip-flops, but I wear mine all year round (yes my toes get cold)! This is actually a great time to grab flip flops because you’ll be ahead of the game for your beach trips later! Hari Mari also sells closed boots and shoes for men!
BoxLunch
How they give back:
With every $10 spent, BoxLunch helps provide a meal through Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks.
They carry curated licensed and non-licensed apparel, bags, accessories, and collectibles for all ages. Stop here for your Disney or Harry Potter lovers, gamers, or Star Wars fans!
Olivela
How they give back:
This luxury store sharing 20% of their proceeds on each sale with charitable causes. In 2020 their holiday cause is St. Judes.
For the upscale gift giver, this luxury store carries over 430 luxury brands in clothing, home, shoes, accessories categories.
Toms
How they give back:
Toms was the original one-for-one company, but since its inception, the company has grown and expanded, and while the end goal is the same, now, instead of donating shoes, Toms donates $1 for every $3 with the goal of creating positive change around the world. Read more here.
I think by now we’ve all heard of Toms! Toms now not only has simple canvas slip-on, but shoes in many styles, glasses, apparel, accessories, and my personal favorite, slippers! I have a pair of Toms slippers that I got for Christmas years ago! I wear them all the time, and they are really great quality- they have stood the test of time and wear!
United By Blue
How they give back:
For every product purchased, United by Blue removes one pound of trash from the oceans and waterways.
They carry amazing gifts made in GOTS-certified factories all made from sustainable materials and had committed to removing all single-use plastics from their supply chain by Spring 2020, but with COVID-19 plans changed. They are still working towards this goal!
Mantraband
How they give back:
As a member of 1% For The Planet, Mantraband donates at least 1% of sales to non-profit organizations to protect, preserve, and restore the natural environment.
I have a classic Mantraband bracelet that given to me as a bridesmaid give and I wear it everyday (that I leave the house)! My friend picked out the perfect mantra for me, it’s exactly what I would have picked for myself, I absolutely love it! This simple style is perfect for daily wear and a great addition to any arm stack. Not shopping for a bracelet person? Check out all of their other jewelry!
Choose your charity, or choose your companies that give back, but either way, you choose, make sure your dollars have a positive impact this holiday season!
