Earlier this week I shared that I was back working full-time after freelancing and full-time blogging for a year and a half. The transition is more than just my day to day timing and tasks, it’s also a big change getting up and getting ready every day. My office is very casual, and in my first week of work, it was so difficult to not wear jeans every day!
My comfort zone is jeans, booties, and a black top, so finding something to wear every day that’s different than that is a challenge, especially when I’m tired and it’s cold outside. I realized I can’t be the only person with that problem, so I’m challenging myself to mix it up and break out of my comfort zone when I get dressed in the morning.
So, as a fashion blogger, of course, I had to turn this into a series! In part inspired by Grace Atwood from The Stripe and her “What I Wore” posts, and in part inspired by my original post-college blog where I quite literally posted mirror selfies every day to document what I was wearing to my first job out of college. (No, it sadly doesn’t exist anymore.)
When I first started reading blogs, I was convinced that these uber fabulous women had someone following them around with a camera all the time. Since that is obviously not true, I’ll share mirror-selfies to show my real-life everyday outfits! Disclaimer, I’m perpetually late, so I’ll probably forget a day or so, and if, at all avoidable, I don’t get dressed on the weekends!
