I have a confession to make. I color my hair (duh). So, not quite the groundbreaking confession you were expecting, but with colored hair comes a lot of upkeep. You have to maintain it by touching up constantly, listening to your stylist, and most importantly using the right products. I received the opportunity to review the HASK Kalahari Melon Oil Color Protection collection through BrandBacker, and I was thrilled with the results!
I have tried several collections and brands specifically for color treated hair and have not really found a favorite yet. Many color protection shampoos and conditioners I have tried left my hair feeling like straw, dry and very tangled. I usually end up mixing brands or using two conditioners because the one for color treatment doesn’t do the trick, and then it ends up cancelling out the effects because regular shampoos and conditioners generally have sulfate in them which is the ingredient that is not good for colored hair.
HASK Kalahari Melon Oil Color Protection collection includes shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, and oil to help nourish and protect colored hair. These products combined help to maintain a healthy and vibrant look. I love that the HASK collection includes a deep conditioner, because it only enhances the moisture and conditioner that is already there. I’m generally afraid of oils in hair because my hair gets really oily if I don’t wash it every day, however I was thrilled with the results of the oil here. I applied it far away from my roots and when my hair was wet so that it could be mixed in well. Also, it smells amazing, seriously. HASK products are free of sulfates and parabens, are gluten-free and have no phthalates, drying alcohol or artificial colors. (Because there is nothing worse than dying your tub purple from your shampoo: guilty.)
Definitely give it a try if you have colored hair!
