I couldn’t imagine a better college experience than I had at Miami University. While in school, I accomplished everything I set out to do and more than I could have ever imagined. Even a few years later I am amazed every day with how much my time at the University affected me. The tools and knowledge I use on a daily basis in my Social Media job and with my blog are things that I learned at Miami University. That is why I am so happy to celebrate another year of MoveInMiami with Miami University Libraries!

While at Miami University, I majored in Marketing and had minors in Management & Leadership and Fashion Design. I was a part of the team that developed the Fashion Design minor and was actually the first person to ever graduate with it! Some of my favorite memories were with Miami University Fashion and Design (MUFD), formerly Miami University Club of Fashion and Design (MUCFD). We produced annual fashion shows that were more amazing each year and I couldn’t have been more proud of how far the “club” now co-major and minor has come. I was also a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, and wrote a fashion column for the Odyssey which prompted long nights at the libraries. Now, I’m three years out and loving that I can still be a part of my amazing University through things like MoveInMiami, which keep me connected.
At school I lived in Norts (Nike shorts), riding boots, rain boots, and black leggings. I did try to wear “real clothes” especially in my junior and senior year, but some days the running shorts won. Before college I never fully understood the need for things like rain boot liners, or hand warmers, granted it was Ohio in the middle of a Polar Vortex (and yes I’m still salty that class wasn’t cancelled). There are so many things you just don’t think about before you actually have a need.
Such a good post! I love your back to school picks too! They even apply to me who has been out of school for a while now. 🙂
I know! I’m pretty sure I have and wear all of these things regularly still 🙂
How cool about being the first person to minor in Fashion Design. That’s pretty amazing!
Thank you Ashley! It’s definitely something I’m super proud of!
Love all your back to school picks! I’d use them all even tho I’m not in school lol. And how awesome that you were so dedicated to your school and the program!
