As I sit on my couch showered and make-up-less less than 24hrs from my last Fashion Week show, it still doesn’t feel real. Going to New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2018 (NYFW SS18) was my dream come true, and I feel so blessed to have been able to attend. This is the first of a few posts where I’ll review my honest opinion of what I did, thought, and wore each day, starting with NYFW SS18 Day 1.
What else do you want to know about fashion week? I’m still in planning mode, so let me know!
My NYFW SS18 Day 1 Schedule:
Thursday Sept 7, 2017
Sechs Element Show
Shopbop was my first stop in NYFW SS18 Day 1. I ran to this event after a ride from the airport to drop off my bags and a quick change. It was fun, full of editors, bloggers, and industry people. They had champagne, the most beautiful clothes, and adoptable puppies! A definite win!
My first show of the week was Sechs Element. Known for sustainable fashion, this collection had a unique vibe. Tons of different textures, and she played with the fabric in a new way that I haven’t seen before. It was less mainstream, but it looked like an easy transition to real clothes.
I had a relatively early night, I didn’t want to wear myself out before my trip really began! Instead of going out I went to bed like a grandma because I really wanted to make the most of the shows and the NYFW SS18 experience, which was the whole point of being there.
This afternoon I chose to wear my suede mini skirt from the Nordstrom Sale and my newest layered bell sleeve top from SheIn. I chose my booties from ZooShoo because I didn’t have to do too much walking and only have a few different places to be… A mistake I made later in the week with the same heels!
