I’m finally coming down from my Fashion Week high, and I’m reviewing my NYFW SS18 day 2 shows, outfits and events! In order to keep things organized, I’m splitting this day into two parts: NYFW SS18 Day 2 Shows, and NYFW SS18 Day 2 Events.
NYFW SS18 Day 2 Shows: Galtiscopio & Cindy Monteiro
A big trend for NYFW SS18 Day 2 Shows was wide leg pants. Both shows featured flared styles ranging from bell bottoms to extreme wide legs (pictured below). The first show, Galtiscopio, was one of my favorite shows of the whole week, mostly because of the energy that was brought to the stage. Between the live performers, gift bags on every seat, music and extravagant clothing (sheer sparkly flared pants), there was so much going on to keep the audience’s attention. The clothing was sexy and sparkly, featuring revealing cutouts, open backs, and hardware. The Cindy Monteiro show was very different in that it was full of light colors and fabrics, even burlap and pooka shells. Click here to see the full collection.
Being my first full day in NYC at NYFW SS18, I woke up early to get prepared for the week. I had a great photoshoot with David Coe, and then spent the day out and about ding Fashion Week things! Looking back at the times it feels like I should have gotten more done, but the biggest misconception I had about NYC and NYFW was the time it took to get everywhere, and of course everything was in a different place than the last! I decided to be comfortable this day, and being my first full day, I wanted to make a statement, so I chose to wear my biggest purchase of the week, my Alice & Olivia jumpsuit. It feels like you’re wearing pajamas and looks like a mix between formal-wear and lingerie. I also plan to wear this jumpsuit to a wedding later this month, so for NYFW, I chose to dress it down by wearing the layering trend, with a t-shirt underneath, and the comfiest metallic J-Slides!
