Sale Shopping: Where to Get the Best Deals

About Kasey, the woman behind Top US Fashion Blog, Running in Heels based in Dallas

Some stores you can always count on to have a great sale. Very rarely do stores only sell full price anymore unless they’re luxury brands. So mid-tier stores that used to exclusively sell full price, are now stores that I exclusively shop when they have store-wide sales, which is a few times a moth!

So many stores these days have adopted a sale culture. You can expect a sale just about every weekend regardless of the holiday or event, because once their customers got used to the sales, they never sell full price items the same again.

This is great for us as consumers because we obviously want the lowest prices on the most current products. Especially as a blogger looking for current styles, I really want to get a deal when I can! I always look for sitewide sales because those are the easiest to shop for full outfits on sale.

Quality in Sale Culture

Victoria’s Secret is a great example of this. Growing up, they never had sales, just the two big Semi-Annual Sales per year, and if you needed a bra at another time, you had to buy it at full price. At some point in the last few years, they adopted a sale model, and now they can’t go back. Every time I walk by VS in the mall they have a new promotion, and because I know that now, I’ll never buy a full priced bra from them again.

In my opinion, once stores start to consistently run promotions or sales, I think the product suffers a bit. They are running the sales to drive traffic and increase sales, however, they still have to make up the profit margin somewhere. It stands to reason that they would make the products cheaper on their end if they are going to reduce the prices on the customer end. It’s Merchandising 101. That’s not to say that you shouldn’t shop these stores, they’re just finding a new model in these times of over saturation and Amazon fashion finds, and typically find a new customer with their new models.

The Customer Wins

However, with all of these stores competing for your attention, ultimately the customer wins. Stores know they they have to win with price and quality because their competitors are always getting better.

Anyways I’ll get off of my soapbox and come back from my glory days as an intern, and bring you the reason you clicked on this post to begin with:
