Spring Outfit Formula

Sweater and All Stars

Hi Friends! I hope you all had a great St. Patrick’s Day! Mia had an early vet appointment so on our way back we stopped for a coffee and puppacino and took walk in the park! It was chilly in the morning but I knew it would be warmer later in the day so I chose to wear my favorite LOFT sweater (last seen here) and was so excited to break out my shorts! This is one of my favorite spring outfits so I wanted to share my Spring Outfit Formula with you!

  1. Dress in layers. The weather in Dallas swings up and down every day. It can start out 65 degrees in the morning and hit 90 by the afternoon, so be prepared with a tee underneath!
  2. Balance. This outfit could easily be worn in the winter if you exchange the shorts for jeans, but by balancing the sweater with the shorts the outfit seems intentional for the season. I prefer the warmer piece on top because it’s easier to remove that layer if you get warm.
  3. Pops of color. It’s spring, so even if my outfit is mainly neutral, I try to include at least a bit of color. This time I chose my light pink converse that happen to match my sunglasses!
  4. Include a great bag. I have a solid one bag that I like to use in the winter. Don’t get me wrong, I love it. It’s my catch-all, goes with everything, use everyday bag. However, I love switching it up in the spring and summer. I don’t like being weighed down with everything I own, and need a lighter, more fun piece. I’m planning on doing a whole post on this particular bag, but all you need to know now, is it’s a vintage Coach bag and it’s the perfect Spring piece!

PS: Get my hat here! Rodd and Gunn is a Men’s clothing brand and I love their clothes for guys- I even turned my Dad onto them!
