Story of my life: something doesn’t fit right. If you saw my insta-story this weekend you saw my parade of sac dresses that were all too large on me. There was just too much fabric for my frame! When I got this dress in the mail, I thought about not posting it, but then I realized I could talk about my style hack: how to wear a dress that doesn’t fit.
On this dress, the straps were too long, and if I shortened them, the skirt would be too short. My style hack for how to wear a dress that doesn’t fit, is to add a t-shirt underneath! Luckily, layering is totally a trend this fall!
I learned quite a few style hacks from my mom. She, my sister, and I are all pretty petite, so we’ve learned a few things over the years. How to take in jeans, shorten dress pants, hem skirts, change the length of a strap, the list goes on! Sometimes it just isn’t viable to actually alter clothing, so style hacks like layering is the best answer!
How to Wear a Dress that is Too Big:
That is a very good hack. I also shorten the straps of my dresses that are too long.

the tee under the dress is totally on trend this season, and I love it with this dress I think it actually makes the dress more of an every day dress rather than an evening dress!
