I always judge a workout by how sore I am the next day. With Kami, (formerly) The Kalon Life, I felt it that night! We met at the Katy Trail for an outdoor workout in the beautiful Dallas spring weather. (It was actually a little hot since it his mid 80s that day!) I’m not much of a gym person, so she said we could meet wherever I felt most comfortable! She kicked my butt a little, but that’s exactly what I want in a trainer. Nothing we did was groundbreaking, it just takes someone to spell it out for you sometimes!
A Breakdown of the Session with The Kalon Life
We started with stretches, then moved onto a run/walk combo until we found a bench to use. At the bench we started with a series of squats, push-ups, and lunges. (This was when I got light-headed because I was brilliant and didn’t eat prior to, so I took a break.) We made our way back to the start and stopped at a set of stairs to do some resistance training, more step-ups, push-ups, and squats, and finally ending with a plank. Overall, it was probably the best workout I’ve had in a while. I mentioned my fitness goals a while back, and totally failed to follow through. Too many excuses later, and I finally understand what I was missing (it’s so easy to forget how good it feels to finish a good workout) and will continue down this fitness path!
When I work out, I feel so much better about myself, and so much more confident. I have a completely different mindset looking into the mirror after a week of skipped workouts, and one day of them. It’s not a physical change necessarily, but it’s a mental one. That is exactly what Kami teaches, how to feel better about yourself, for YOU, inside and out. She’ll work with you not only on your fitness, but also your nutrition, life goals, and styling, truly encompassing The Kalon Life and how beauty is more than skin deep.
This outfit fits perfectly with today’s post because I actually met Kami at an event she hosted at our Dallas Outdoor Voices store! All of the pieces are interchangeable and super cute! I actually got the Warm Up Kit (the kits save money) and love how comfortable and functional these pieces are! Get my outfit here and shop additional pieces below!
Outdoor Voices and The Kalon Life have coinciding themes, where one is about living your best life, the other is about enjoying life and #DoingThings to enjoy the game and not worry about the results. See where I’m going with this? Both of these brands align with Running in Heels, and if you don’t know, my mission statement is right there in the sidebar –> Running in Heels is a blog designed to inspire girls to explore, create, and live beautifully in their daily lives. Wow this post came together so perfectly!
