Before I talk about my red trench coat, I want to talk about my day job when I’m “in the trenches” as a Social Media Manager! I laugh when I have to explain my job to people, because I do literally sit on Instagram all day. It sounds like a pretty good deal, which it definitely is, but there’s more to it than scrolling my favorite bloggers! I recently started a new job, so my day to day is still changing. I’ve been there about 2 weeks and so far so good! It’s always an awkward transition into a new office, new hours, a new drive and schedule. The biggest difference for me is the actual job. Though having about the same title, I went from an agency to an in house marketing team. I went from focusing more on the strategy of the company and the department to really digging into one account. Both really wonderful jobs in their own rights, but I’m happy to be back working with retail products and more directly on the social media.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen me get really emotional on my story when I was making the decision to take this job. I was having a hard time walking away from my last company. They offered me so much, and I learned and grew so quickly. I felt like I was walking away from a family that helped me grow up. In that position I essentially created the department I was running, and leaving the agency meant I was leaving the team the I built and created in other people’s hands. If you know me at all you know that I like things done my way, so it’s really difficult to see other people take over something I built.
Anyways, let’s talk about this trench coat, because I have been obsessed with it since I saw it on the website! I think everyone should have a variety of trench coats in their closets for spring, however, with my closet full of coats, I find myself not needing them in Dallas as much. Clearly that doesn’t stop me from buying them, though! This red trench coat is from one of my more frequented retailers, ASOS. It’s super slimming and has a belt at the waist, hits right above the knee, and is lined for a little bit of insulation, plus it’s the most fun color! Red fits perfectly into my wardrobe since most of it is black, white and grey! I love this bright color, it also makes my favorite bag and shoes pop! I think this whole outfit looks really classy and expensive, ad while my bag and shoes are splurge pieces (which I talked about here) this red trench coat is only $48! Such steal for a great addition to your closet!
