I am so excited to share this post with you, because last week I went to a really cool fundraiser that means so much to me! Music has always been a big part of my life. I’m not a piano prodigy, but as a ballerina, I was taught the importance of music and the arts growing up. That’s why I moved everything around to attend the VH1 Save the Music Fundraiser, Musically Mastered Menu!
The event was at Cooking Concepts, Top Chef, Tre Wilcox’s restaurant in Plano, featuring music performed by Nathan Skyes formerly of The Wanted. Nathan played three songs for us and then made his way to the kitchen for a quick lesson from Tre on how to cook a scallop appetizer! It tasted uh-mazing, just like the rest of the meal. Everything was incredible and perfectly portioned, from the salad to the pancetta! Of course the food and music were incredible, but the whole point of the night was to raise funds for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation. They have partnered with over 130 schools in Texas, and more than 2000 schools across the US. They provide all new instrumental music programs.
I mentioned above that I moved things around to get to this event. Originally, I had planned to attend the Stylemaker Awards Party. I happened to already be wearing this dress with riding boots to work. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to stop home first. When I got to the party, Nataly and I snapped these photos really quickly and then hit the party. After mingling a bit, I ran out to head to Cooking Concepts. I met another friend, Mary at the VH1 Save the Music fundraiser. My life isn’t normally this exciting, but it’s really fun to have events like this once in a while. I think I’ll just try to not plan them on the same night next time!
