Me and many other bloggers across the insta-verse, and blogosphere have been covering this sale a lot so I thought I would write a different post with items you shouldn’t buy from the sale and why. I’ve read a lot about people feeling disappointed because they can’t shop or feel worse about their income or the fact that they were saving money. I never want anyone to feel bad after reading my blog or seeing my Instagram posts! So I hope this post helps both shoppers and non-shoppers feel better because you absolutely do not need everything from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
What NOT to Buy at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
I obviously shopped a ton and love Nordstrom and this sale, so it is in no way intended to be disrespectful to the brand, but everything won’t be a hit. I tried all of these items because i truly thought that I would love them, but some just didn’t work out! Generally, I’d not buy items that are the wrong size, are uncomfortable, not your style, or just something you aren’t comfortable in just because it’s on sale. Those purchases aren’t worth it and usually end up getting returned anyways!
First up, is this dress. I love Leith as a brand and think they have so many great dresses, however this one in particular was a major miss. It’s super thin and shows EVERYTHING. I’m a pretty small person and I was very uncomfortable in this dress! In this pic below you can see the lace on my bra and my seamless no-show underwear through the fabric of the dress. Wait, is that my belly button? No, thank you!
Next up was this jumpsuit. I think I’m just not a fan of the style but it looked a little blob-like and was not the most flattering cut on me. It was basically 2 pieces of rectangular fabric sewn together with a string to hold it up. The neckline was an odd cross between a V neck and crew neck because it was loose on what I just considered a draw string and the arm holes weren’t even cut round. Not worth the $43 price tag.
This cardigan is one that many people will disagree with me on. I know a lot of bloggers are pushing it, but I just don’t like the balloon sleeve trend. I think this particular sweater is too long, chunky, and really just too much for me.
I really hated this jumpsuit on me. I’ve seen it on other girls and it’s looked so cute. On me? No I look like I should be in a big top. The fit was actually really good, but the print was too much and the style was definitely not me!
I only tried on things that I thought I would like that turned out not so great. I’d love to hear about your experiences if you shopped the sale! I totally think the loose fitted jumpsuit would be cute as a beach cover up. Or you could belt it to make it more form fitting!
Ooh I like it for the beach! The look was just not what I wanted for fall!
I’m with you on not pushing everything in the sale. There are pieces that I love and am lusting over but we all have a budget to stick to.
xo, Laura
Don’t get me wrong, I love the sale, but it’s so overwhelming and EVERYTHING can’t be that good!
That cardigan is so cute but I also didn’t buy it. Way to long on me and the sleeves just made me look boxy.
I think it’s just the wrong style on me!
Love this! Refreshing from the normal ‘what I bought at the Nordstrom sale…’
This was so refreshing to read and definitely agree– these would all be nopes for me as well. Thanks for keeping it real!
Thanks girl!
I love that you took a different spin on all of the Nordstrom posts floating around! So refreshing!
Thank you, Jess!
i actually really like that last jumpsuit on you – maybe with heels?
hmm maybe, but I think it’s just not my style!
Love all of your picks!
Thank you! Just thank you lol This type of honesty is what we need in our every day life jajaja seriously, its rare to find someone to actually be honest and advice what not to buy or do base on their experience. Keep it up!

LOL thanks so much girl! I figured I’d switch it up now and again!
This is why I really like the refund option, it’s my saving grace!

SO true! You never know how things are going to look once you get them!
I really like this post! Such a good take on the NSALE!
I just got this jumpsuit and sweater in the mail and am dying to try them on!
Such a good idea! Nice to see someone switch it up for a change!
So many great pieces!
