I really bolstered my white wardrobe during my engagement, but there is no reason that only brides can wear white- with the obvious exception of wedding events! Lately, I’ve been wearing more midi and maxi styles casually, but I always love a cute and flirty mini-dress! White is a super versatile color to wear and goes with so many colors and styles. You can dress it up or down depending on your occasion and style based on the accessories you choose. Flirty Style Mini Dresses

A mini dress is so fun and cute to wear in a flirty style. These flirty white dresses add an element of innocence in white. As we know white at a wedding is meant to symbolize virginity, innocence, and cleanliness, but it is totally dependent on the style. Al wedding dresses aren’t modest, nor does your white mini dress need to be. A cute mini style is so fun for a summer date night or a girl’s night out. You can choose heeled sandals and a mini bag to complete the look.

Midi Dress for Travel

I was all about the midi skirts and dresses while traveling in Italy this summer. It was such a cool, comfortable way to sightsee while still looking cute. Midi dresses are a great compromise when you don’t love maxi dresses. They are great for being able to move and not worry about modesty since they are long enough to cover anything you need. I love them with sneakers and a jacket!

Maxi Dresses

I am just now entering my maxi dress era. I usually feel like they have too much fabric and swallow me whole. I usually choose a maxi that ends at my lower calf or ankle to avoid feeling fully enveloped. Maxi dresses are great with wedges or flat shoes depending on the occasion. For an evening on vacation, I love a flat sandal, date night a wedge, and a daytime walking-around, a sneaker. Maxi dresses are so versatile, so there are so many options and occasions to wear them!

Personalize it!

You will see this tip in many of my posts, but it’s such an important step in styling your outfits! You must find your personal style and understand what makes you, you. Define what you want to say with your outfit and who you want to tell the world you are through your clothing. It can change day by day, too! One day you can choose a pop of color and the next you can be edgy and chic. Find your common thread and center your outfits around one main style. Mind tends to be classic and sometimes I make it an edgy classic, and sometimes it ends up being more of a sweet classic with a ruffly dress and heels.

Wear Casually With Flat Sandals

Any flowy white dress, especially those more casual styles, is great with flat sandals. However, I love a maxi dress with flat sandals the best! This is a cool casual vibe with a flowy boho-looking dress. Keeping a light and airy feel to your look. I love Jack Rogers styles for flat sandals, or currently, I love the chunkier sandals that are on trend. I grabbed these from Madewell recently!

Make it Professional With a Deconstructed Blazer

It’s hard to make a casual dress fully professional. If you work in a casual environment, in my opinion, it is ok to wear a casual dress if it isn’t short or revealing. Grab a deconstructed and/or unlined blazer and throw it on top, then finish with a pair of loafers or flats. It is a really great way to make your wardrobe more versatile and mix and match styles.

Choose Wedges

Add some height to your style with wedges! Wedges are generally the most casual style of heels, so they pair well with a casual-style dress, such as a white flowy ruffle dress. A white dress would look great with natural-colored heels, but for a more exciting style, choose a fun color wedge. I love this look for a summer brunch or a girl’s day/night. Add a fun bag and a mimosa to complete the look!

Add a Pop of Color

Pops of color started to receive a negative connotation leaving the late 2010s, but we never really removed them from style, I think they were just rebranded. The important thing to remember is to ensure you keep balance. I love a pop of color in my bags and shoes. You can use the rule of three to add three light touches of color to your outfit accessories. Maybe it’s your sunglasses, bag, and shoes, or earrings, belt, and bag. Either way, any color would be a great addition to a white dress.

Choose a Monochrome Style

White shoes and accessories are a great way to extend the summery white dress through the full outfit. I love classy monochromatic white outfits. From a simple white preppy shift to a boho ruffly dress like the one pictured, a monochromatic outfit is a classic look. Pair not only white shoes, but a white bag, sunglasses, and accessories for a white monochrome look. If it will get chilly at night, also grab a white sweater or jacket!

Add Long Sleeves With A Denim Jacket

You already know I love long sleeves in summer for so many reasons! A white summery dress and a denim jacket? I don’t think I could name a more classic summer combo. You can choose almost any color denim, but I love a classic medium wash. A denim jacket alone is already a really classic look, but adding one to a white dress can really add to an already gorgeous style. It keeps the look casual, can protect against bug bites, and keeps you warm at night when the sun goes in.

Don’t Forget the Makeup

With a white dress in summer, I tend to choose a more natural make-up look. A sunkissed blush style and mascara are perfect on tanned skin. You can also add pretty pink or red lipstick for some color! Then choose nail polish to match! How cute would a red nail be paired with a red lip and white-framed sunglasses? Consider your makeup if choosing pops of color, they can count in creating your balance.

Choose Leather for an Edgy Look

I love an edgy style, so I couldn’t resist adding an edgy recommendation for a white dress styling. Style your white dress with a leather jacket for a hard and soft juxtaposition. You can even add combat or moto boots black sunglasses, and a leather bag to complete the look. Balance is really important with this style. Try to choose a dress with natural fabric such as silk to pair with a black leather jacket. A dark lip and neutral shoes would be a great combination all together! A cotton dress would also be great whether it is knit or poplin you can wear leather sneakers and choose a more casual bag for another option.
