It seems so soon to be writing about my 2020 resolutions. It feels like I just finished my post about my goals for 2019! This year I have a lot of goals, so I’m separating them into categories for my posts. I have goals for travel, for my professional life, for this blog, but in this post, I’m going to focus on my personal fitness goals for 2020!
Personal Fitness Goals for 2020:
1) Drink More Water
I have a horrible habit of drinking coffee all day and forgetting that coffee is not actually hydrating. Sometimes I make it worse by just switching to wine when I get home too! I wonder where my midday headaches come from, or why I can barely make it through a workout later in the evening when I don’t drink enough water in a day!
The key is to drink before you’re thirsty! The financial review says that “as little as 1% dehydration negatively affects your mood.” According to WebMD, “mild dehydration can make you feel tired, give you a headache, and affect your mood and focus.”
I love my VitaJuwel water bottle, but this one is also great with the measurements!
2) Workout Twice per Week
If you have been following me on Instagram over the past few months, you’ll know that I’ve been working out at least once a week at Trufusion, a new studio in Dallas. It’s my goal to increase that by at minimum one more day per week to have a steady, regular schedule of 2xs a week! I know it sounds like a small goal, but honestly, I find that those are the best and easiest to stick to!
I usually stick with the yoga classes, but I’ve tried several other styles and I have absolutely loved everything I’ve done there! When you’re a member, you can try out all of the classes on your schedule and even do special workshops for free!
3) Get 8 Hours of Sleep Every Night
Sleep is something that I haven’t had a great relationship with lately. I have a bad habit of staying up too late, not sleeping when I actually go to bed and waking up all night long. I’m going to start accomplishing this goal by going to bed at a normal time!
I made a move to grab this pillow because I really needed a new one and heard great things about it. I’ve slept on it for over a week, and I’m obsessed. I immediately started sleeping through the night when I began using it, which is a great start to the progress!
I used to say that I didn’t believe in New Year’s Resolutions because I hated the thought of waiting until a specific day to start changing your habits. SO, I didn’t wait. I started changing my habits when I saw the problem, and I am so much better for it! I feel like I can actually accomplish my goals in 2020 because I have a head start on them!
