For NYFW SS18 Day 3, I woke up early Saturday morning to get my hair done at Caravan Style Studio in the Gregory Hotel. They braided and waved my hair using OGX Beauty products, and even gold wire wrapped in the braid from a craft store, just like on the runway! That morning I went to my first NYFW SS18 Day 3 show at Skylight Clarkson, Taoray Wang. The Taoray Wang show was one of my favorites! There were some pieces I wasn’t a fan of, but the show was full of trends like skirts over dresses, suiting, and cinched waists!
My second show of the day was Runa Ray (of course on the other side of town) at The Galleries at the Dream. Her show was sparkly and pretty, and the dyes in the dresses were all natural. The next show of the day was Mac Duggal (in a completely different place on another side of town), a gown designer, The dresses were beaded, sparkly, flowy and stunning. Unfortunately all of that was overshadowed by the models tripping over their dresses, they were all about 2in too long!
It was evening now, so I made a quick stop down the road to say hi to a friend, and then ran to one more show (again in a different place). The last show was Negris Lebrum, it was actually a Houston designer, who said they almost didn’t make it up to NYC because of the hurricane. He also had many Texas models, and I loved that I was there to support this smaller show, but extremely talented designer. After the show I was in a random part of town I wish I knew, my phone was dying, and I hadn’t eaten a meal all day, so I walked down the street and found a cool bar called Death Ave… seemed like a great place to stop at 10pm by myself. It was actually a great little brewery with good food, although I;m sure I would have been happy with anything at that point!
I didn’t have time to change all day, so I wore my comfiest outfit. I had planned to go to the open Banana Republic show in the store, but it overlapped with one I was invited to, so I had to choose!
