It’s a rare day when I’m not wearing jeans, but I found the most comfortable wide leg pants and had to share them! These wide leg teal pants are so soft! The high waist was extremely flattering, and do we even need to talk about the color? This teal is so similar to jeans, that I would almost consider this a neutral. I paired them with a black top and shoes, so overall this is a pretty simple outfit, but I feel anything but simple wearing it.
Black Friday is no longer just a day, but an entire week. There’s no more waiting in a line at 3am outside of your local mall until the doors open. No more fighting with a crazy mom over the last Victoria’s Secret PINK pants. It happens, and it’s nuts. While I could ever understand why people did those things, I did understand how exciting it was. I worked several Black Fridays in the mall, and believe me if you don’t feel the excitement when you open the store gates at 4am, you do feel slightly terrified. I think I felt a little bit of both. Though, now you can go online at just about anytime to see the cyber week deals and stumble upon a sale on any site. Holiday style is one of my favorite topics of the season. It’s funny because growing up I only dressed up for church on Christmas eve and my family’s annual Christmas party. Even then I’d wear a favorite sweater or a matching Christmas dress that matched my sister’s, which was quite a while ago! As usual, my primary concern is comfort, so I opted for a lightweight sweater and my most comfortable jeans! The more important piece of your travel style is actually your luggage! If you’ve ever had a zipper break or a wheel fall off at the airport, you know exactly what I’m talking about!
Until this week, I didn’t know how obsessed I was with sweatshirt dresses for fall. I bought this one a few weeks ago and was waiting until it got cold enough to wear it. The inside is fleece, so I was going to roast in the 80+ degrees. This week the weather finally reached 50s in Dallas and started to feel like Fall, so I broke out my sweatshirt dresses!
There’s nothing quite like the challenge of finding something to wear for date night. My go to is usually a pair of skinny jeans, black heels, and some version of a black, white, or grey top. However, those outfits are good for regular dinners, drinks, but every so often we go out somewhere nicer. For a birthday, anniversary, or for when we just decide to switch it up a bit! This ruffle wrap dress for date night was so perfect when I saw it! It’s one of those dresses that you need in the back of your closet to grab anytime that you need it.
Story of my life: something doesn’t fit right. If you saw my insta-story this weekend you saw my parade of sac dresses that were all too large on me. There was just too much fabric for my frame! When I got this dress in the mail, I thought about not posting it, but then I realized I could talk about my style hack: how to wear a dress that doesn’t fit.
It feels like New York Fashion Week was so much more than four days, but this last day, NYFW SS18 Day 4, was one of my favorites! It started with Francesca Liberatore at Skylight Clarkson. I loved it, and hated it. There were a few prairie chic pieces the collection could lose, but there were some stunning pieces, like the black and gold gowns! Next up, was Dan Liu at The Galleries at The Dream. I was amazed by the finale piece! All of the models wore peacock feathers as eyebrows which livened up the otherwise simple looks. I took a break after that show to head back, pack up a bit, and change.
For NYFW SS18 Day 3, I woke up early Saturday morning to get my hair done at Caravan Style Studio in the Gregory Hotel. They braided and waved my hair using OGX Beauty products, and even gold wire wrapped in the braid from a craft store, just like on the runway! That morning I went to my first NYFW SS18 Day 3 show at Skylight Clarkson, Taoray Wang.
